Night Rainbow Blog Hop

If you are on your blog hop journey..you are in the right place ;)

I could not wait to get started working with this collection. The color combinations, the rich vibrancy, the MOOD. *chefs kiss*

Deborah Fisher, of Fish Museum and Circus has created an extremely cool collection and I was super excited to be asked to participate in creating something fun from this array of pure delight.

Night Rainbow has the best combination of dark moodiness mixed with bright colors. Honestly, I was a bit intimidated at first having looked through the lookbook (found here) and seeing some of the other projects that were made to highlight this collection. Honestly..I want to recreate all of them, but I know I haven't thee time haha

Using that lookbook, I was able to pull some of the coordinating solid fabrics (I have listed those below for anyone else wondering). And from there I got to crackin.

Lately I have been making a lot of smaller projects (I have lost my sewjo due to the overwhelming summer that I have had so far), so I have been overdue to make a quilt... and alas, that streak has come to an end.

Using a pattern that I created a while back - that happens to utilize a ton of different prints, which made it perfect for this project - I started making my HSTs, and and squaring them off.   Then came the fun part, mixing and matching to get the best color combos for each block.  The coordinating solids really helped to blend these blocks and give the overall "look" for this quilt. After 25 blocks were stitched and pressed, I took to my quilting wall and starting laying out the top.

When I decided that I had everything in its proper place, I decided to add borders for each block, both to enhance the overall blend for each row, but it also gave the top a few extra inches - making this the perfect throw size quilt.

Once I was satisfied with how everything was laid out, I started chain piecing my top, and voila! This stunner was done!

I am still waiting on my backing fabric to arrive, but once I have it... this baby will be off to my local longarm magician to be completed :)
